We're done with you

I came in the day after I put in my 2 week's notice to find the schedule for what would be my last week just posted.

I typically worked 30 hours a week, and instead my manager had scheduled me for just 8 on my last week. To my knowledge this is illegal.

I think corporate knew that too, because they paid me all of my unused vacation hours when I called to inquire about that.

I'm surprised they let you work out your 2 weeks- I was always told that CPI did not work on notice.

Actually, by law a company does not have to let you work out your notice. You've told them you're quitting, the 2 weeks notice is a courtesy given by you to the company so that they can prepare themselves for when you do leave. If they don't need/want you for those 2 weeks, they don't have to schedule you as you have already given them your intention to quit.

We were always advised to take a notice on the spot, unless we were desparate for coverage. Having a person leaving stay around can become a conflict of interest with customers (who always want to know why) and also staff morale can come into play when the person leaving is unhappy. Since you had vacation time, you technically could have given your notice and said that your last 2 weeks would be your vacation time.

My DM doesnt accept two week notices. You're gone as soon as you say you're quitting.

as long as you give your 2 weeks you get your unused vacation time. the only reason you get 30 something hours to begin with is to maintain full time privelidges.
